Yes, you can insert any HTML object, including images in the description of an event.

Moreover, you can add a poster (big format) as weel as a thumbnail (small) very useful to present your events.

There are three methods to change the wording in AllEvents :

  1. Various events, calendar, menu links,... by language.

    It's the running standard way of Joomla!. The disadvantage is that you have separate events, with separate registrations. Nevertheless, all is well segregated, involving no issuei.

  2. Use titles and descriptions in the language tags in the event in the backend


  3. Use language overrides for the title

    For example, define the event title in COM_ALLEVENTS_MY_EVENT_TITRE, then create the Joomla language override.

You can translate AllEvents by translating the [lang code] .com_allevents.ini file in the language folder of your Joomla website. The french version of this file (fr-FR.com_allevents.ini) is included in the packet.

The Administrator AllEvents LiveUpdate plugin has been replaced by the LiveUpdate Joomla. Nevertheless, it's still active that is thereason of the blank page.

To deactivate it:

Installation from your hard disk

In order to install Allevents, log into joomla admin panel, then:

1 – Go to Extensions => extensions manager

2 – Select uploaded file with browse button.

3 – Click on « Upload and Install » Button”

If installation is running well, next screen is displayed to confirm that installation of component, modules and plugins has been performed with success:

Note : On your own installation, screen-shot can maybe have some minor differences.

Installation from tmp folder from your website

In some cases, installation from hard disk doesn’t run due to temporary slowness issue at your hoster or an allowed upload max size lower than you uploaded package one. In this case, installation doesn’t run and you get either a blank page or an Joomla error message!

In order to install Allevents, do by this way :

  1. Unzip the package on your hard disk in a folder  (allevents as example)..
  2. Run you ftp program (FileZilla or other) and log into your server.
  3. Open /tmp folder at website root.
  4. Upload allevents folder from your hard disk to /tmp folder of your website. You shall see the tmp/allevents folder.
  5. Log into admin part of your website then goto Extensions>Extensions Management(1).
  6. Add your folder name after the fulfilled path in the field « Install folder » (2). If you have choosen allevents as folder name (the one transfered  by FTP in tmp folder, your pathname must be completed by tmp/allevents. If you have choosen another folder name take care with upper / lower case.
  7. Click on “Install” (3).

Note that after the uninstalation the tables in teh database are not deleted.

If you want reinstall AllEvents starting from scratch, you have to delete all the tables of the database begiining by

(JoomlaPrefix)_allevents_.

It's an error in the table declaration... Your PHP version is too old and so, it doesn't recognize this déclaration.

We advice you to upgrade PHP in newer version.

The basis

Log into admin panel of your website to access to the AllEvents panel control, Then goto Components => AllEvents.

Since 3.3.1 version, a new banner has been added under the alert message and the post-installation message. This banner intends to help you in creating your first events.

1 – How to: This frame explains how to get started with Allevents.  + Buttons on the right of every line provides direct access to agenda, venue and event creation screens.

2 – Calendars : This frame gets back the created calendars. + Button on the top right provides direct access to the agenda creation screen.

3 – Events : This frame gets back the created events. + Button on the top right provides direct access to the events creation screen.

You can deactivate this banner display by switching the general parameter 

beginner button to No.

Detailed view about all functions:

1 – This sidebar shows all links as a menu.

You can have a banner that reminds you are using the free version (if it is).

You can have a banner informing you that Allevents post-installation messages are available. Once you will have read these messages, they will no longer appear.

2 – Agendas: By clicking this button, you can browse, edit, cancel, create … your agendas.

3 – Venues: By clicking this button, you can browse, edit, cancel, create … your venues.

4 – Events list: Shortcut to edit your events list.

5 – Add an event: Shortcut to directly create an event without going to event creation page.

6 – Event to approve: Shortcut icon to edit your events approval list.

7 – Registrations: Shortcut to edit your registration list.

In AllEvents you can easily locate your events and/or calendars.

To create a venue, log into the website admin hen goto Allevents menu. Click on  VenuesUK icon.

The next panel displays all existing venues. Click on  NewUK

You can define these parameters in your venue:

1 – Address tag: venue address.

2 – Venue tag: additional data: email, phoe, bullet and thumbnail

3 – Description tag: You can write a description of your event. This description is as all joomla articles a HTML code. It means that you can write as you will do an article by adding links, images… This description id displayed in the website frontend in the event pages.

4 – Publishing: General data of the venue as clicks number, creation and modification date,...

5 – Title: Venue title.

6 – Address: Venue address. This address will be converted in exact data(Number, street, City, zipcde, Country, Latitude, Longitude) thanks to Google map.

7 – Google map: You can fulfill here information related to Gogle map. It's possible to move the cursor to fine tune the exact location.

8 – Access: You can define an access level for your venue. By default, it's set to "Puclic access"

– Status: You can define the venue status. Take care, if you don't publish the venue, the related events will not published too.

10 – By default: You can define if this venue will be assigne by default at the event creation.

Once you have fulfilled all informtion you need, just save it.

If you want assign this map to a specific event, edit it and select this map in the venue topic.

All Allevents features have a common basis: the agenda concept. An event is linked to an agenda. The « Museum visit » will be part of the « Visit » agenda while the « Meeting » event could be part of the “club life” agenda , the “Summer internship” part of a “Our children” agenda.  

You could decide that you should need only one agenda on your website and that this “agenda concept” is not mandatory. No problem! An events is not linked in a mandatory way to an agenda and you couldn’t care.

Vous pourriez décider que, sur votre site, vous n'auriez qu'un seul agenda et que, par conséquent, cette notion d'agenda est superflue. Pas de problème ! Un évènement n'est pas obligatoirement relié à un agenda et vous pourriez donc ne pas vous en soucier. However, as nobody knows how your website can evolve, I advise you to create an agenda in order to be ready the day you would need. By creating an agenda since the beginning, your events and other Allevents data will already be on the right way and it will simplify the multi-agenda enhancement.

Log into administration website in order to create an agenda. Then go to Allevents menu. Click on CalendarsUK icon

Only the calendar title is mandatory (1), However, I advise you to fulfill the next parameters in order to to make nice your calendar and website:

1 – Calendar Tag: Gets back main data form the calendar

2 – Title: It’s the calendar title. Select something quite generic that makes efficient your events classification.

3&4 – Colors: You can define a background color and text color. These colors will be used in the frontend pages in order to differentiate events by calendar either in the events lists, in the calendar or in the description event page.

5 – Contact link: You can select a user  who will informed by e-mail during a registration to an event and an event proposal.

6 – Thumbnail : You can assign a thumbnail to your calendar. This thumb will be used in the event description page, the calendar description page or the frontend. The calendar thumb will be used to represent the event if you don’t select another thumb in the event edit panel.

7 – Bullet: You can define a bullet for your calendar. This bullet will be used everywhere in your website frontend in order to symbolize the calendar. Allevents already includes some bullets, but you can also upload your ones from tour computer.

8 – Acces : You can define an access level for your calendar. By default this parameter is set to « public ».

9 – Status: You can define the calendar status. If you don’t publish the calendar, the events related to the calendar will not be published too

10 – By default: You can define if the calendar is the one that will automatically be assigned at an event creation.

11 – Description: You can write a description of your calendar. This description is as all joomla articles a HTML code. It means that you can write as you will do an article by adding links, images… This description id displayed in the website frontend in the calendar pages.

To go further, you can also fulfill next parameters:

13 – Referencing Optimization: In order to optimize your website referencing, you can fulfill the meta-data: description, keywords and robots.

Once you have fulfilled all needed information you can click on ApplyUK

Event data are grouped by tag.

– Event tag: main data of the event.

2 –  Description tag: You can write a description of your event. This description is as all joomla articles a HTML code. It means that you can write as you will do an article by adding links, images… This description id displayed in the website frontend in the event pages. 

3  Publishing tag: This tag contains various data as its identifier, Clicks number, creation and modification date,...

4 – Registration tag: If you want open the user registration, switch the Allow registrations button to Yes. Registration Form dispalys three buttons: Going, can't Go, Maybe

5 – Parameter tag: as for publishing tag, parametr tag contains annex data related to the event, ex: contact person.

6  Metadata tag: You can fulfill meta description, keywords, robots in order to optimize referencing. 

7 – Title : Event title.

8&9 – Date : You must assign at least a beginning date to your event. You can also assign a end date You can assign a time by end or with the scroll list. (ex. “15/04/2012 18h30”).

10  If the event lasts the whole day, stick this check box instead of fulfilling the time. 

11&12 – Thumbnail and poster: You can assign a thumbnail and a poster to the event. 

13 – Annex file: You can complete your event with a file containing your poster, flyer...

14-20 – Calendard/Activity/Venue/Public/Section/Category/Resources: If you have previously created these items, you can assign one of them to your event. If a value doesn't exist, you can click on the button and fulfill the title and color data. Afterwards, you can complete the other data in the AllEvents panel control.

Once, you have fulfill all parameters, click on ApplyUK

First technic: thanks to a module

The module that provides AllEvents display is included in the free of charge version and so it has been installed during the component version.

Log into andmin wbesite and goto Extensions Management > Modules management then New.

Three 3 AllEvents modules are available

Various data concern next data: Calendar/Activity/Venue/Public/Section/CategoryThey are based on the same creation principle than the calendar, except venue creation. You have to fulfill:

1 – Title : Activity title.

2 – Calendar: you can assign your activity to a calandar.

3 – Bullet and thumbnail: you can assign a bullet and a thumbnail to your topic in order to differentiate each others.

4 – Description : you can assign a description to your topic

5 – Color: you can define the background and text color.

To activate the management of a topic, you have to go in Allevents options and activate the related button. Here is the default values in the panel control tag.
